COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of 5G Core Network and Network Slicing. It explores the evolution of the new core network architecture, its implementation and deployment through the analysis of virtualization, containerization and cloudification concepts. The different VNFs composing the 5G Core are fully described and all interfaces protocols are discussed. Moreover, the concept of network slicing, its usage and management, MEC and the application of SDN to 5G network are analysed. As a value added, a Core Network simulator is used and some real 5G implementation use cases are shown.
