COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course explains the next-generation optical transport networks which are providing high capacity for high demand scenario. It covers optical fibers types for long distance and their advantages / disadvantages, introducing WDM multiplexing, and the basic components to realize a complete OTN. Different nodes and topologies are discussed, in different terrestrial and submarine scenarios. OTN Framework is explained: OAM and typical Alarms. The evolution toward the new OTN container (OSU) and (T-SDN) will be introduced, along with their typical implementation in live scenario.
