Technical implementation and radio channel allocation are analysed and discussed: NR Reference Signals, new Synchronization Blocks, the Dynamic Frame Structure, 5G Bandwidth Parts. The 5G Radio Protocol Stack is explained, considering the new interfaces and functions which extend the typical DRAN implementation to new ones with Centralised RAN, new eCPRI physical layer, Distributed Unit L3 Real-Time, OpenRAN and MORAN scenarios. Coexistence of 5G NR with LTE in EN-DC and with different NR in NR-DC architectures are discussed as well.
